And Another Celebritard

Thank goodness nobody has a touching story about overcoming adversity to get a lucky shot on one of the NFL teams this year. Thank goodness nobody spent the off season rehabbing an injury or surgically repaired limb to make a nearly miraculous recovery. It would be a shame if the Chicago Bears came back from a Superbowl defeat only to look stronger and faster than last year and were clear front-runners to win the NFC.

Luckily, nothing good or extraordinary is happening because all this bullshit about Mike Vick would have obscured it. Oh, the other bit of NFL news that made it through the media gauntlet was the Briggs accident. Stop the presses.

If this kind of behavior (i.e. Tank Johnson, Pac Man Jones, Mike Vick, etc.) is such an embarrassment to the NFL that they suspend the players, why is it the lead story not only on the sports stations, but on the NFL Network, too? Why don't they start working some P.R. angles to get our minds off of this shit instead of giving us the hourly update of what he had for lunch today? For the love of all that's holy, he won't be sentenced until December and will likely not play again. Wanna bet we hear a little something about him every single week this season anyhow?

Why Do I Do This?

I was originally inspired by the Web log posted on the site for Propellerhead Software. They developed a cool 808 emulator which eventually morphed into an entire digital audio workstation package (Reason). Those early posts documented their development process and gave a human insight into their struggles. It was cool. So, I bought some hosted space and figured out FrontPage to put a rudimentary site together. My goal was to connect my family, but then realized this could be a great way for me to keep track of happenings over time. Eventually, the manual, HTML journal gave way to this Blogger setup - much easier to deal with, and not bound to one computer.

Ultimately, this is more about nothing than an episode of Seinfeld, but I appreciate that you've read this far. Really.
