One More from Boing Boing
RFID is being adapted fairly quickly in the industry of shipping and transportation. I've heard rumors about a new, national ID that will be required of all citizens by the Department of Homeland Security eventually - another evolutionary step in the Orwellian future of America.
Here's some information via Boing Boing that exposes the weakness of a totally digital identification solution. While I'm well aware that paper passports are hacked regularly, it seems much more difficult to produce them in bulk. This RFID version could potentially allow for a whole new level of identity theft.
Go get 'em, DoHS!!
