Bears Schedule Is Out

The Bears have never fared well in the odd time slots (Monday, Thursday, or Sunday night games), so the new schedule only adds to my excitement. Looks like only five games are at night, so that's one more excuse off the table. Now if I could just convince someone to burn the orange jerseys...

This won't be an easy season. We'll face the Steelers and Cardinals (both Super Bowl teams) and the Packers and Vikings have gotten better in the past few years, too. We also get to see our old friends Cedric Benson and Tank Johnson in Cincinnati in October. Okay, that one should be easy - we know they don't have a running game.

So we gave up some early draft picks to get Cutler, but we still have later-round picks to fill in holes. I'm actually even excited about the draft this year, because there's still the possibility to land some gravy.

Why Do I Do This?

I was originally inspired by the Web log posted on the site for Propellerhead Software. They developed a cool 808 emulator which eventually morphed into an entire digital audio workstation package (Reason). Those early posts documented their development process and gave a human insight into their struggles. It was cool. So, I bought some hosted space and figured out FrontPage to put a rudimentary site together. My goal was to connect my family, but then realized this could be a great way for me to keep track of happenings over time. Eventually, the manual, HTML journal gave way to this Blogger setup - much easier to deal with, and not bound to one computer.

Ultimately, this is more about nothing than an episode of Seinfeld, but I appreciate that you've read this far. Really.
