Over The Line

I've heard about the Obama images with the Hitler mustache superimposed, but I saw them first-hand today. Coming out of the Warrenville, IL post office at lunch, there were two guys with a card table swathed in this hateful LaRouche PAC crap. It raised my ire, but I realized that engaging would be playing to their intent.

Apparently, their message is that if you support a reform in health care, you're basically a Nazi. If you are cool with another public option for getting well, you're a socialist that hates Wall Street. The biggest problem with their argument in my opinion is that we have seen no evidence that Obama has singled out a particular segment of society for eradication.

It might be naive on my part, but I truly believe he'll make it through his first term with zero genocides attributed to him. And if that's true, then we'll have to consider that his intention was not to bring an end to all of mankind, but to help us all live a more prosperous life. I know, I know - it doesn't sound real.

Why Do I Do This?

I was originally inspired by the Web log posted on the site for Propellerhead Software. They developed a cool 808 emulator which eventually morphed into an entire digital audio workstation package (Reason). Those early posts documented their development process and gave a human insight into their struggles. It was cool. So, I bought some hosted space and figured out FrontPage to put a rudimentary site together. My goal was to connect my family, but then realized this could be a great way for me to keep track of happenings over time. Eventually, the manual, HTML journal gave way to this Blogger setup - much easier to deal with, and not bound to one computer.

Ultimately, this is more about nothing than an episode of Seinfeld, but I appreciate that you've read this far. Really.
